In most of the country a weak heater is an annoyance. On a dark January morning in the Yampa Valley, a defroster that cannot keep the windshield clear is a safety problem, and a dead heater on a long, cold drive between towns is worse than that.

How A/C service actually works
An A/C system is sealed. If yours is blowing warm, the refrigerant did not wear out; it leaked out, and a recharge without a leak repair just schedules the same failure for later in the summer. We test performance, find the leak, fix it, then evacuate and recharge the system to the manufacturer's specification.
A/C service is also federally regulated: the EPA requires anyone servicing vehicle air conditioning for payment to be trained and certified, using certified refrigerant-recovery equipment, because refrigerant must be captured rather than vented. It is a job for a proper shop, done properly.
