Most Hondas from the last two decades do not run on a fixed mileage schedule. The Maintenance Minder watches how the car is actually driven and shows a main code, A or B, with numbered sub-items for jobs like tire rotation, filters and fluids. The 1.5L turbo engine in 2016 to 2018 Civics and 2017 to 2018 CR-Vs is the known example: in very cold weather, fuel could dilute the engine oil, and in 2019 Honda extended warranty coverage on the camshafts and rocker arms of more than a million of those vehicles, after earlier software updates for cars in cold-weather states. That extension has since run out on most of them, so on those engines we check the oil level and condition at every visit.
AWD is the other. CR-Vs, Pilots, Passports and Ridgelines send power to the rear through a differential that needs its own fluid, and that service is easy to miss when the car feels fine. On the V6 models the timing belt is a scheduled replacement, while the four-cylinder engines use a timing chain, so knowing which engine you have changes the maintenance plan.
